Just in time to add my picture for the POB weekly photo contest by @friendlymoose. I was so busy this week that I almost forget to post my picture. In a few days I leave Belgium and go back to Spain for 3 months, so I still had to do things. But that's another story.
This picture was taken near the Belgium coast. We were driving around and suddenly I saw this scenery. We stopped so I could take a picture. I remember it was near the town of Koekelare, but I don't remember the exact location. We like to take the little roads and see were we end up. This way you encounter places you would normally never see.
Koekelare is the largest agriculture town of West Vlaanderen. It's also known for cyclist tourism because of the and of course the arboretum.
And let's not forget the Great War (1914-1918). This region is also known as Flanders Fields, were the Germans were stopped.
I also took a similar picture at the same spot. But I prefer the black and white version. Somehow for me there is more "drama" in the B&W one.
