Days go by so quickly. Days turn into weeks and then into months. We've been so busy the past months. End of September last year we signed the papers for our new place. And then the busy times started! So many things to do and so little time. 2 days after the signing we went back to Belgium and had to arrange everything with the bank. The Belgian part was quite easy. Then we needed to sort out what needs to be done to the new place. As we bought a bank repossision, the place was empty for 12 years. So we need to figure out what we need to buy, which repairs needed to be done. No need to tell my hubby was into Excel and numbers. The easiest would be buying everything in Spain, so I spend days looking at websites to find everything we need.
After 6 weeks in Belgium I went to Spain again. I had to deal with all the paperwork and that was a nightmare! It took forever to gets things done and find the right people. The Spanish bank was giving us nightmares because of the money laundry laws they need all kind of information. And again and again... It was so stressful to find out that people loose emails, papers and so on. In the meantime I was preparing the move and started packing things.
Finally on Friday January 13th we got the keys! The place is now officially ours! Now the works could start. The electricians had to replace some sockets, hang the lights, wallpaper had to be applied on some walls, the outside ceiling needed some repair, a deep clean was done and connecting the dishwasher, laundry machine and so on. Also checking that there were no leaks in the water system, ...
So one week later I could move in. The only problem was that the furniture was not yet delivered. So I camped a bit in the new place. I had everything that I needed, I could take a shower, everything in the kitchen works. I was just lacking my couch and bed. But I slept on those pallet cushions and I was happy that I didn't had to drive constantly between the old and the new place.
Now I could start unpacking and organizing!
