Yesterday was Yellow Day in Spain. June 20 is considered the most happiest day. It's the opposite of Blue Monday in January.
Why is it the happiest day?
- Start of official summer
- Longest day of the year
- A lot of companies switch to "Summer working hours"
- Extra summer pay
And for me personally it was also my happiest day!
The day started with the delivery of my cooling tower. A few moment later 2 handy men arrived to install the mosquito rolling screen in the bedroom. Great, now I can properly cool the apartment while summer starts here.
A bit later in the morning I received the message that all the paperwork for my new car was done. That took a long time because I'm an expat but still have my official residence in Belgium. We thought that the NIE number would be enough, but no way! You really need to process a lot of paperwork here. More information you can find here: https://ecency.com/hive-174578/@fiatgirl/moving-to-spain-part-3. Anyway, yesterday morning an attorney had to drive to Murcia for the final papers. The only thing left was the car insurance. So I contacted my agent and sended all the documents to him. As soon as I got the insurance policy, I could pick up my car.
Meanwhile it was already late afternoon and I thought that I would be for the next day. But just before 5pm I received the confirmation from the insurance company.
The nice thing of living in Spain are the opening hours of businesses. The car dealer is open till 8pm, so I could make an appointment at 6.30pm. I just had enough time to order a taxi 😄
While I was there they still needed to attach the license plates and after a quick explanation I could leave the showroom with my brand new Fiat 500. Hell yeah, it's my Yellow Day!
The only downsize that day was the bill at the petrol station. But hey, you can't have them all.
Now it's time for me to go ... Need to do some shopping otherwise I won't have dinner tonight!
Take care and drive safe! 😉
