CEMENT TO BLOCKS RATIO:
No matter how broke you are at the time of undergoing your bungalow building do not allow the block moulders to produce more than 38 of 5" blocks per bag of cement (50Kg). The standard is 32 but 38 is allowable with a quality sharp sand. Ensure to cure it properly too, (This act is mostly found in the African countries precisely WEST).

This is bcos most bungalows do not have load bearing columns like the storey buildings as such force of gravity acting directly on the building + the roof loads can make your walls crack an possibly collapse if there are no routine maintenance in the near future.

It happens that way because the blocks are not strong enough to resist the vertical actions of live loads and dead loads. (Eg wind actions and gravitational pull/ Roof loads).
