“All of this has happened before. All of this will happen again.” – Number Six, Battlestar Galactica

This might seem a little crazy but I've been thinking about this since proofofbrain.io went dark. This might be what makes the most sense though and helps to at least partly explain what is currently going on with Proof of Brain.

In short, proofofbrain.io becoming defunct had to happen. It was meant to happen. It was part of a plan to make POB token Hive's BTC and possibly also part of the plan to make proofofbrain.blog Hive's version of bitcoin.org.

Let's not focus on who @proofofbrainio is. For this let's focus on the token and tribe. We can use @proofofbrainio as Hive's version of Satoshi Nakamoto in this hypothesis.

The first post by @proofofbrainio was the POB whitepaper. The post stated, "The design of POB token is inspired by Bitcoin, Hive, and LeoFinance." Based on the whitepaper overall the philosophy behind POB was more heavily inspired by bitcoin than anything else. The model for mining was basically the same with no pre-mine. The maximum amount of POB tokens which will ever exist mirrors bitcoin.

Before the first bitcoin halving the creator of bitcoin vanished with virtually no further posts on the internet. Now, before the first POB halving was planned to happen @proofofbrainio has seemed to also vanish. @proofofbrainio's canonical posts were posted to proofofbrain.io. When @proofofbrainio vanished, no more posts, so no more @proofofbrainio website. Get it? No @proofofbrainio, no proofofbrain.io.

POB having so much in common with bitcoin, in hindsight it should have been very predictable that @proofofbrainio would disappear by this time along with proofofbrain.io.

If @proofofbrainio's plan is to have the history and future of Proof of Brain token repeat the history of bitcoin, then I suppose it should be just as predictable now that in a few years Hive's version of Dr. Wright will show up claiming to have been @proofofbrainio.

Whether through coincidence of future need or plan, proofofbrain.blog was set up months after the launch of POB and was the heir apparent of proofofbrain.io if anything happened to the Proof of Brain's tribe UI. Now, if POB does someday end up being Hive's version of bitcoin @leprechaun's website is positioned to become Hive's version of bitcoin.org in this hypothesis.

Acceptability is one of the reasons bitcoin is now so popular. Another reason is scarcity. The POB diesel pools will continue to exist. POB will still be listed on the TribalDEX and Hive-Engine exchanges. Over the next ten years Hive will probably grow in popularity. Over those next ten years some of the accounts on the POB richlist hodling POB will likely become inactive for whatever reason, like users losing their Hive keys. Some more POB tokens will get sent to be burned by the @null account. If ten years from now Hive has 21 million active users and each user wants to stake one POB token that would be impossible. Assuming that POB continues to be minted at a slow rate there won't even be a total of 21 million POB tokens yet in existence. Those 21 million active users trying to own at least one POB token to stake will have to pay a premium price to get someone with one POB to sell it to them.

Obviously this is not financial advice. This is just a hypothesis/thought experiment or more likely my Hive crypto fan fic. However, all of this has happened before with bitcoin. All of this could happen again with Proof of Brain token. So say we all.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I'm glad I read this because I had gone to the original site and noticed it was no longer available. Now I know why. MAYBE. 🤔🤔😁🤣🤣

Indeed. I plan to be here on Hive for at least the next ten years if not longer. More time to use the #POB tag and curate.😁

That's a really interesting hypothesis and it's funny how similar POB is to it. I wouldn't be complaining if it did go wild haha

Me neither.🤑😁
