From cinema to reality.

Japanese researchers at the University of Tokyo are trying to create a living skin to cover the structure of humanoid robots and thus make the robots look more pleasant to us.

The result so far is a finger, an artificial finger that is covered by living skin, that cream-colored texture is alive, it is a living tissue that, according to the Japanese researcher, the robotic finger still has a slightly sweaty appearance, it is not yet perfected is under development.

The skin turns out to be much weaker than the natural skin and unfortunately it does not survive long unless it is supplied with nutrients continuously, so they are thinking of installing a vascular structure to be able to nourish this living skin that the finger would use robotic.

They have still given dates for when it will be ready, but they calculate that in a few years they could have this type of skin, it can be thought that this, in addition to robots, could also be applied to human prostheses, people who have lost, for example, a hand and want to have an artificial hand, but with a natural skin texture.
