The second human with a brain chip plays Counter-Strike 2 with thought

Imagine using only your thoughts to control a video game or create detailed 3D projects, this is no longer science fiction, it is the reality that Alex, the second human to receive the Neuralink brain chip, is now living.

After a spinal cord injury Alex lost control of his limbs, but thanks to the Neuralink implant he has found a new way to interact digitally, with this latest Advance Alex can now play Counter Strike only with the power of his mind.

Previously he relied on Quadstick, a mouth-operated control which limited his actions in the game now with Neuralink Alex not only points, but also moves simultaneously in the game, revolutionizing his experience, it is “crazy” he shared describing the freedom Alex has also explored 3D design by creating and printing a custom holder for his implant's electrical charger.

This demonstrates the potential of the brain chip to perform creative and functional tasks. Neuralink's technological advances have not been without challenges. In the company's first patient, 85 percent of the electrodes were displaced after surgery, compromising the reading of neural signals, to avoid this with Alex, Neuralink implemented crucial improvements including placing the chip deeper into the brain.

Fortunately these changes seem to be working well, as Alex's chip remains stable and functional and the future promises even more, Neuralink is already working to improve video game controls and expand the technology to interact with the physical world, allowing Users operate robotic arms or wheelchairs with their minds.

Elon Musk's ambitions for Neuralink are big with plans to use the technology in certain treatments in memory preservation and even superhuman cognition and Musk is not stopping there as he has mentioned that he is willing to have the chip implanted in his own brain showing its commitment and obsession with this technological Revolution.
