POBPhotocontest entry: Lights like fatous fires (Eng | Esp)

in #hive-1503299 days ago

Greetings, friends of the POBPhotocontest. This is my first entry to this prestigious contest. I haven't done it before, because I don't own a professional camera; just an old amateur camera. But I decided to do it, first, because I was attracted by the theme, and second, because I have some photos compatible with it.

Playing with a simple metaphor, I would say that color is an invention or a miracle of light. Thanks to it, whether natural or artificial, we have access to the common and wonderful experience of color. We can be simple witnesses of it, or a playful experimenter. This was my case in the photos I share with you below.

The photos I am publishing were taken from a ferry, returning from a trip to Araya, a town on the coast of the peninsula of the same name, located in the State of Sucre (Venezuela). It was night and it was raining. As we approached my city, Cumaná, I took my small camera (a Kodak CD82 camera) to capture the luminous and colorful phenomenon that was produced at a distance. The coast, the pier, the beached ships, the lights of the road, etc., produced that colorful visual spectacle that, like fatuous fires or fireworks, created a kind of optical illusion.

I liked these photos for their visual effect. I hope you may find them appealing.

A big hug, @josemalavem

The most important thing in photography is two or three millimetres behind the viewfinder... If we're talking about a mobile phone, the important thing is who's holding it.

The camera is just a tool that doesn't take pictures on its own.

The wonder is in what we are able to see. We adapt to what we have and look through it with creativity. It will be valuable all the same. These pictures prove it.

😉

I appreciate your wise comment and your appraisal, which, coming from you, is truly flattering. A hug, dear @nanixxx.
