A Lotus Lantern, to celebrate Vesak.
You may be wondering what Vesak is; it is the day when Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and passed away. Many people in my country celebrate it by making lanterns. This is the lantern I made, and it happened to be during the week when the #POBphotocontest was featuring the "Night." The lantern signifies a single white lotus; the story goes that Lord Buddha's mother saw a dream where a baby elephant brought a single white lotus to her womb before Lord Buddha was born.
I would like to thank @friendlymoose for hosting this contest. This is my first time participating in one; the picture was taken with my phone. Hope you all like it, and Happy Vesak, everyone.
