I was glad that my big orange cat has been staying with us on a permanent basis. After the two weeks’ flooding of this area, Joan seemed to have become more attached to our house. The flood made it impossible to return to our neighbour’ s house. Though I was at first afraid that he would return to his newly adopted house, he decided to stay and kept Kwan’s company. So, Kwan was no longer lonely and cried around the house searching for her brother’s company. I was very happy to see the two cats playing together again.
One morning, I decided to take my cars for a walk at the back of the garden after they had their breakfast. They were a bit puzzled as I never urged them to follow me early in the morning. But they were quite curious and slowly walked after me. I just wanted to take some photos of the sunrise and I thought it would be good for them to see the sunrise too. The garden was strewn with fallen Praduk’s leaves. These cats seemed to be cautious and alert most of the time. This was because the two stray dogs had found a way to sneak into our garden and chased orange cats when there was nobody around the house.
So, my gardener had put a net at the wire fence at the back of the garden. She thought these dogs squeezed themselves through the holes between the plants around the wire fence. I also wanted to check if the wire was effective in stopping these dogs from entering the garden. The orange cats seemed to sniff the marks that these dogs made around the garden. However, they continued to follow me to the wire fence. I was quite impressed that these cats behaved very much like puppies.
Kwan, the smaller cat was always more curious and bold in her behaviors. Joan was more cautious and he would be very careful in taking any impulsive move. As soon as Kwan saw the blue net along the fence, she was puzzled why she couldn’t just walk through the gaps along the fence. She tried to find a way to get put into the fields next door. Joan was surprised by the blue barrier and didn’t understand why he couldn’t walk through it. Kwan struggled to find a way out so I found her a little hole which she immediately took as an exit to explore the fiends. Then Joan followed Kwan to find the freedom to roam freely.
I told them to be careful of stray dogs and to stay alert. Kwan was very glad to be on the other side of the fence. I told her not to go too far and to come back in an hour. I could see them looking very happy and gleeful to escape from their ‘boarding school’. These cats had their adventure for about two hours; Kwan came back first and Joan turned up half an hour later. They looked very satisfied with their brief adventure out in the fields. They had been entertained and their senses perked up by their ‘freedom break’. I guessed cats also needed a change of atmosphere and a break from their routine.
It was very interesting to observe the two cats and their different characteristics. Kwan seemed very bold and adventurous while Joan was very cautious and more timid. Kwan loved the challenge and uncertainty while Joan tended to be quite conservative and placid. Kwan still ran around the garden and climbed trees quite often. I hardly saw Joan climbing trees any more.
I took some photos of the sunrise from the back of the garden. I thought that sunset looked more dramatic and colourful. But I have seen photos of sunrise taken by others; they looked as nice as sunset photos. But I didn’t seem to be able to take good shots of this sunrise moment. The sunrise energy was supposed to be very beneficial for the brain. The vibes of sunrise would wake the brain up and make the body ready for starting a new day of activities. I forgot to observe the difference it would make to my body and mind after gazing at the sunrise. I guessed I was more active and could get more things done during the day. But I couldn’t feel any different impact on my brain activity. Perhaps I had to make another experiment next time and took notes of my whole day.
The orange cats seemed calmer and contented after their brief adventure. They didn’t feel the need to seek some extra excitement to brighten up their routine. I was glad to see them sleeping at their usual places during the whole afternoon. These cats were very easy to please as they weren’t demanding, but very easy going and affectionate. They continued to be very considerate and wouldn’t cry for help when they saw those stray dogs running around the garden searching for cats.
The blue net didn’t work! The brown dog just jumped over the fence to get inside the garden. The black dog found a new hole at the other corner of the garden. I had to chase them out myself. My cats were glad to see me running after these dogs. The dogs were very stubborn and persistent so we had to plug holes along the fence soon. I hoped that the land spirit would continue to look after my orange cats for me.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
