Hotter than fire

in #hive-150329last month

The kind of rain that fell from 6:20 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night was so heavy that it got me thinking and imagining that after the rain, all the water in the clouds would be finished. It was pouring down as heavily as if a drum filled with water was being turned upside down to empty itself.

At that time, most of the people in the shop hadn't closed, and the rain trapped them because it was so heavy that anyone who stepped outside would be drenched as if they were being hit with a pump of water. I was still outside, trying to capture the lightning with my camera, but I couldn’t because the shockwaves from the lightning were shaking my phone. I had to hide it in my pocket to avoid damaging it. My dad always warns us not to use phones or any electronics when it's raining and lightning.

Later that night, the husband of one of the shop owners drove in to pick up his trapped family, and I took the opportunity to capture the reflection of yellow rainwater illuminated by the lights.

For today's #ttt, I’d like to share a few random tracks I found on my YouTube timeline, which were recommended based on my previous searches:

"Hotter than Fire" by Dr. Pat and Sheyman

This song was a hit when it came out. Back then, we used to enjoy mixtapes, both video and audio, on CDs and VCDs. This song was on almost every mixtape, showing how popular it was. Unfortunately, the two artists disappeared from the scene after the song's success.

"Jedi Jedi" by Olu Maintain and Konga

On a normal standard, I shouldn't have liked this song because it was sung in Yoruba, and it's not even a danceable song. But hey, I love this song to the core because of Olu Maintain, and especially because my sisters used to frown at the song, particularly when Olu Maintain spoke in a weird voice during one of the verses. Yeah, I love this track. I used to play it on VCD back then too, from his first album.

"Pass Me Your Love" by AY.Com and Terry G

This song was like an anthem in our house back then because I made my siblings fall in love with Terry G by constantly playing his songs. This track was so easy to sing along to.

Thanks for reading!
