Advent calendars are a lot of fun, and while I have enjoyed the chocolate treats in them before, I’ve never actually owned one. This year I decided to remedy this, and I got not one but two advent calendars, as shown in the following image. Yes, I have a sweet tooth.
The idea is to open one of the flaps beginning on December 1 and enjoy the treat inside. There are a total of 25 because you open one flap each day leading up to the holiday.
I was amused this morning when I saw that I had been tagged on a post by @jayna regarding a Hive-based advent calendar initiated by @bozz. The idea is to receive several hive in your hive wallet, keep one for yourself, then pass on the rest to someone else. They get to keep one and pass the rest until it is all gone. It should be one per day, so if you receive it and decide to play along, please wait a day. I’m doing mine on December 5th in Canada.
I received 22 hive from @jayna. So, I will keep one and will pass on the rest to @macchiata :) Although she is from a South Pacific culture, Mac has an excellent understanding of European-derived cultural shenanigans. So, I think she would appreciate playing along.

The Rules (as per the original post)
- Religion doesn't matter. It doesn't even matter if you celebrate Christmas, this is just something fun I wanted to do.
- Don't be a dick and keep all the HIVE for yourself. The idea is for you to keep one HIVE and then pass the rest on. Be sure you can trust the person you send this to before you send the HIVE.
- Try to wait a day before you send along the remaining HIVE. The idea is that by the time we reach Christmas we are at 1 HIVE left and the last person keeps that. If we blow through all the HIVE before we get to December 5th, that is going to be kind of lame. I mean, if it happens it happens, but let's try to keep it from happening.
- When you send the HIVE please put hive advent in the memo field.
- I don't want to mess up anyone's posting schedule, but try to write a post about when you send the HIVE. Please use the tag #hiveadvent and try to include these rules in the post so the next person knows what to do.
