The cyberpunk good looks of the city are undeniable. It's why I came here to begin with. I was just following my lysergic navigational compass turned on by late century info-bits sprayed on my retinal sensors. For all intents and purposes, this was the end of the western lands, not just geographically but neuro-culturally. Beyond it was the ocean, much of which was still mysterious and unknown. On this terrrestrial outpost before migration, IT must be here, I reasoned, whatever it was.
The aquabus bobs up and down on the waves. I look at the lights around me, and they seem to nod. So bright and alive! After so many years, I ask myself, have I finally found what I'm looking for?
