A Birds Eye View Of Daintree Rainforest
Goood day fellow Drone community I trust you have been well flying your drones. I have heard bad stories about DJI and US Customs which appears to be holding up a lot of the latest drones from reaching suppliers and purchasers.
The latest iteration of drones are pretty impressive and come cram packed with a heap of great features and I am loving my latest drone that is a huge upgrade from the phantom 3. I took it up with me to North Queensland and got to use it quite a lot and the most recent spin was in the daintree rainforest a must visit location for anyone.
You will hear me say that alot because it truly is a magical place that I absolutely love seeing and spending time up in. Much of it is as old as the dinosaurs themselves with some plant life only found here.
There is both a local first nations population the Kuku Yalanji people who have lived here for over 60,000 years and the local population, despite negative news you might hear, everyone gets a long as people do.
The area is rich in history and culture and people are permitted to attend the Gorge with some changes being previously it was free to attend and the place was inundated by tourists who kept leaving rubbish.
Now to attend you need to go to the culture centre and book a bus to the Gorge which costs $14.50 the funds go towards being personally driven to the waterholes and best places as well as supporting efforts in keeping the site clean and free of rubbish.
The area was sadly did have some deforestation happen as sugar cain grows in north Queensland due to the climate and is still one of the main industries so a lot of the land was cleared to create sugar cain fields. But over time the area is being returned to it's former and current glory.
The water is pristine and crystal clear with an abundance of fish and wild life, it is not uncommon to be able to swim next to fish, while the water flows down from the mountains it is quite refreshing in comparison to the tropical sea water.
Always a great place for a swim and we visit each time we head up to North Queensland.
