Proof of Brain Photo contest-BLUE

@friendlymoose hosts the #pobphotocontest and the theme this week is BLUE. You can see the contest rules- HERE

The local botanical garden holds an art event each summer with a different theme. The theme a few years ago was dragonflies and local artists are invited to create art that is displayed in the garden all summer and then auctioned off at the end of the year as a fundraiser for garden projects.

There were dragonflies of every color, but here are a few of the blue ones.

Dragonflies are so great I always admire them. Do you also have those rather little ones, maybe 4 cm long in this shilly but very dark blue? !LUV

Great and very blue photos :) I like the patterns on the first one. It has a Native American totem pole feel. I have a good southern word for you. Snake Doctor thats what they used to call dragonflies in the south. My mom still calls them that.

Snake Doctor! I have never heard that. Do you know why they are called that?

I think its a superstition. Snake doctors follow snakes around and stitch them back up if they get hurt especially cut into pieces. So if you see dragonflies parents would tell kids to be careful because snakes are around.

I remember reading once where someone said if fairies still exist in the world, they appear to us as dragonflies
