The rocks that I saw in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California are definitely some of my favorites.
I love rocks! The hardest part of this challenge was choosing which rocks to enter.
Rock music?
No. I chose to enter photos of the surreal geologic features that are one of the things that make the park a fascinating place to visit.
In this first photo, you can see a small Joshua Tree. And in the second photo is a big old Joshua Tree that gives the park its name.
Native people found the tough leaves useful to make baskets and sandals, and the flower buds and seeds made a healthy addition to the diet.
