Becoming INTJ-A

in #hive-15032910 months ago

After watching a video on youtube I stumbled across the https://www.16personalities.com/ personality test where you can take a short 5-10 minute test and find out your personality type.

I am often very skeptical of these type of tests and think they can be gamed a little. Also, how you perceive yourself is not always how you are in real life sometimes.

However, I decided to take the test as it was free and found out that I am a INTJ-A. I have heard of this abbreviation in the past, but it has completly left me what it is now, so I had to have a refresh.

INTJ stands for : Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Judging traits and the A means Architect. You can find the full details of this personality type here.

With that in mind, I was really surprised how accurate this test was and I could relate to the results. Part of the journey of life is also discovering yourself and this I think can influence other areas of your life.

I was also surprised to find out that it is the same personality type as Elon Musk, Arnold Schwarzneggar and Seven of Nine from Star Trek. I don't see myself as being similar to them, but it is a funny co-incidence!

Once you take the quiz, you can find out your % for some of the personality traits and see if they relate to you accurately. I was also suprised to find that there are some personality types that don't think at all. I am wondering how that must work as it seems quite puzzling at first!

From a video I was watching, there were 2 personality types that don't think and they were generally not so successful at things, which I can imagine being the case, because if you do something without thinking at all about it or the consequences, it probably isn't going to end up well for you. It certainly helps explain what sometimes might seem and look like totally irrational behavior by some people and doing something without thinking, but to someone without a thinking personality, its perfectly normal!

Now I am thinking about it, it is starting to make more sense that there would be people who don't think and some of the crazy things you see around you sometimes make sense.

Summary

Armed with my new knowledge about my personality type, I will see if it will help me in any of my endeavors. When doing something, I can then think, oh yes, I am doing this because I am INTJ-A, that makes sense. Does it make sense to try and fight against the traits of your personality though? Would that move me out of my comfort zone and not make sense or feel right to me I wonder, I guess I would need to experiment and find out.

Have you taken the test? Were the results accurate for you?

Thanks for reading.

Love the 16 personalities test! I did one some years ago, but will be curious to see if it changed over those years 🧐😆

I am thinking I did it some time ago, but I'm not sure if I have a different result now too.

They usually send them to your email, so you might search your inbox to see if you’ve done it and if it changed 😁

Good point, I should do a search! 😀

I'm also INTJ
Took the test so so long ago.
Don't remember there being -A types
Good ol Myers Briggs

It's a really interesting test, I am surprised how accurate it seems to be.

I took the test quite some time ago and I got ISTP, then I tried it again and I am now in the INTP mark maybe the change comes from the age and being a parent but not 100% sure.

I'm a rebellious ENTP-A and I recognize myself very much under this personality type.

That sounds like a cool personality type! It is great to discover more about your personality with this test.

I had to go to the link to find out what INTJ was, I was surprised to read that there are 16 different personality types, Isaac Newton is also an example of this, I will take the test to find out what I am, our personality traits are quite stable but if any are causing problems it is useful to manage them in an effective way.

Good luck on the test, I hope you get some interesting results. Hopefully we have stable personality traits, I would want to be unstable. 😅

I’ve never heard about this test before
I may give it a try to see if I’d try

I hope you enjoy it.

I don't think we need to "fight" our personality traits. We can train them if we want to and is beneficial to us. I'm a huge fan of clearing, letting go, rewiring and training our behaviors / thinking patterns etc. which comes down to building & strengthening new neuro-pathways in our brains.

That's a good perspective and yeah, refining things instead of fighting against them makes sense.

I've discovered this test a long time ago and it also came out as an INTJ. The crazy thing really is how accurate the description is when reading it. Knowing my personality type didn't help one bit the 'solve the flaws though'.

It is one of the rarest types and I have noticed that talking to other INTJs in real life or online tends is like day and night and feels so much more relatable compared to talking to 'normies'.

Good luck with the new discovery!

Ah cool. I didn't realise it was one of the rarer types, I saw something like around 2% instead of expected 6% or so.

I wonder if it will help or not if we understand ourselves, but I saw some research that with age, having a better self understanding gave you more benefits to a younger INTJ for example in many vocations, but maybe it can be explained by getting more life experiences anyhow.

Understanding yourself helps for sure, knowing what personality type you are isn't really understanding I would say. It just gives a basic explanation of how you go about certain things by default. For me personally, I think a flaw is to seek too much rational understanding at the cost of actual life experience. It does help though to understand but in the end, taking action is what is at least equally important.

I think that's a very good point. We often spend lots of time thinking and not so much in the actual doing.

I just did the test and it shows that I'm an INFP-A personality type. From the description of it, it seems quite accurate. I think it's a great way to understand our innate tendencies and see how we can enhance them when needed.
Thanks for sharing :)

It said that my personality is Adventurer, definitely I must've answered some questions wrong. :))) Other than that, it was kinda right with the rest, also Kevin Costner appeared at the end, which I like, ohhh, and Jessica Alba YUMYUM :)))

Haha yeah, that would be cool to have Kevin and Jessica in your group! 😅💪

Well, I'm about to leave for work but I found your post and I'm very intrigued, I think it will be the first thing I'll do when I get back hahaha. Not only I was surprised that you say it is very accurate, but it tells you some famous people with whom you have similarity in personality, very interesting, I'll try it later to see if I fall in love with the results to me too, happy Tuesday bro, I hope you bring me musical recommendations for this week, is what I came looking for 😅

I hope you get some good results. I think the test is very interesting, it can surprise you how good the test is. Happy Tuesday bro! #ttt

I hear a lot about these character types and the new generation knows a lot about them. There was a time when I would see people a few years younger than me writing INTJ on their profile and I didn't even know what that was XD

Thanks a lot man, now I'll go and take the test myself

Yeah, I was finding that lots of young people checking this out too. It was also used by guys to pick up girls.

I took a personality test a long time ago, but I don't remember what I was. I might still have it written down somewhere. It was back before all of this stuff was available on the Internet. They have probably changed all of those things now.

We did a different type of personality traits test in my work and this one is quite different, I guess more focused on you as a person.

Interesting! It's crazy how much stuff is right at our fingertips these days.
