Good afternoon to all dear friends, may God bless you greatly. Today I share with you some verses that teach us that the Christian life is a continuous spiritual battle and that God has provided us with specific spiritual tools to protect us and remain firm in our faith. Each piece of God's armor represents a virtue or practice crucial to living a victorious life in Christ, and constant prayer strengthens us and keeps us connected to God and his power.

Stand therefore, having your loins girded with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and shod your feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace. Above all, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching therein with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;
Ephesians 6:14-18

Stand firm, then:

• Meaning: Paul urges believers to remain firm and constant in their faith and resistance against evil.
• Application: This implies not wavering or giving in to trials and temptations, but being firm in the conviction of God's truth.

Gird your loins with truth:

• Meaning: In Paul's time, girding the loins meant preparing for action. The truth here refers to God's truth and moral integrity.
• Application: Live a life based on the truth of the Word of God, being sincere and honest in all our actions and words. The truth is the foundation that sustains the believer.

Dressed in the breastplate of justice:

• Meaning: The armor protected the soldier's vital organs. Righteousness represents both Christ's imputed righteousness (justification) and practical righteousness (sanctification).
• Application: The righteousness of Christ protects us from God's judgment, and living a just and righteous life protects us from the accusations and attacks of the enemy.

Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace:

• Meaning: Footwear allowed soldiers to be ready to move quickly. The "gospel of peace" refers to the message of reconciliation with God and the peace that this brings.
• Application: Be prepared to share the gospel at all times and live in the peace that comes from a right relationship with God, which gives us stability and purpose in life.

Above all, take up the shield of faith:

• Meaning: The shield was a crucial defense against enemy attacks. Faith represents unwavering trust in God and his promises.
• Application: Use faith as a defense against doubts, fears and temptations. Faith extinguishes the "fiery darts" of the enemy, which are spiritual attacks such as lies, doubts and temptations.

Take the helmet of salvation:

• Meaning: The helmet protected the soldier's head, essential for survival. Salvation refers to the security and certainty of salvation in Christ.
• Application: Keeping the mind protected and focused on the security of salvation and the promises of God, which protects us against thoughts of hopelessness and discouragement.

The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

• Meaning: The sword was both an offensive and defensive weapon. The Word of God is the tool that the Holy Spirit uses to instruct, correct and direct.
• Application: Know and use the Scriptures to defend against lies and temptations, and to guide in the Christian life, confronting error with divine truth.

Praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit:

• Meaning: Constant and fervent prayer is essential in the life of the believer. Praying "in the Spirit" means being guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit in prayer.
• Application: Maintain a life of continuous prayer, asking for God's help and watching with perseverance not only for oneself, but also for other believers.

Buenas tardes a todos amigos queridos, que Dios les bendiga grandemente. Hoy les comparto unos versículos que nos enseña que la vida cristiana es una batalla espiritual continua y que Dios nos ha provisto de herramientas espirituales específicas para protegernos y mantenernos firmes en nuestra fe. Cada pieza de la armadura de Dios representa una virtud o práctica crucial para vivir una vida victoriosa en Cristo, y la oración constante nos fortalece y mantiene conectados con Dios y su poder.

Estad, pues, firmes, ceñidos vuestros lomos con la verdad, y vestidos con la coraza de justicia, y calzados los pies con el apresto del evangelio de la paz. Sobre todo, tomad el escudo de la fe, con que podáis apagar todos los dardos de fuego del maligno. Y tomad el yelmo de la salvación, y la espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios; orando en todo tiempo con toda oración y súplica en el Espíritu, y velando en ello con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos;

Efesios 6:14-18

Estad, pues, firmes:

• Significado: Pablo insta a los creyentes a mantenerse firmes y constantes en su fe y resistencia contra el mal.
• Aplicación: Esto implica no vacilar ni rendirse ante las pruebas y tentaciones, sino estar firmes en la convicción de la verdad de Dios.

Ceñidos vuestros lomos con la verdad:

• Significado: En la época de Pablo, ceñirse los lomos significaba prepararse para la acción. La verdad aquí se refiere a la verdad de Dios y la integridad moral.
• Aplicación: Vivir una vida basada en la verdad de la Palabra de Dios, siendo sinceros y honestos en todas nuestras acciones y palabras. La verdad es la base que sostiene al creyente.

Vestidos con la coraza de justicia:

• Significado: La coraza protegía los órganos vitales del soldado. La justicia representa tanto la justicia imputada por Cristo (justificación) como la justicia práctica (santificación).
• Aplicación: La justicia de Cristo nos protege del juicio de Dios, y vivir una vida justa y recta nos protege de las acusaciones y ataques del enemigo.

Calzados los pies con el apresto del evangelio de la paz:

• Significado: El calzado permitía a los soldados estar listos para moverse rápidamente. El "evangelio de la paz" se refiere al mensaje de reconciliación con Dios y la paz que esto trae.
• Aplicación: Estar preparados para compartir el evangelio en todo momento y vivir en la paz que proviene de una relación correcta con Dios, lo cual nos da estabilidad y propósito en la vida.

Sobre todo, tomad el escudo de la fe:

• Significado: El escudo era una defensa crucial contra los ataques enemigos. La fe representa la confianza inquebrantable en Dios y sus promesas.
• Aplicación: Usar la fe como defensa contra las dudas, miedos y tentaciones. La fe apaga los "dardos de fuego" del enemigo, que son ataques espirituales como mentiras, dudas y tentaciones.

Tomad el yelmo de la salvación:

• Significado: El yelmo protegía la cabeza del soldado, esencial para la supervivencia. La salvación se refiere a la seguridad y la certeza de la salvación en Cristo.
• Aplicación: Mantener la mente protegida y centrada en la seguridad de la salvación y las promesas de Dios, lo que nos protege contra pensamientos de desesperanza y desánimo.

La espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios:

• Significado: La espada era un arma tanto ofensiva como defensiva. La Palabra de Dios es la herramienta que el Espíritu Santo usa para instruir, corregir y dirigir.
• Aplicación: Conocer y usar las Escrituras para defenderse contra las mentiras y tentaciones, y para guiar en la vida cristiana, confrontando el error con la verdad divina.

Orando en todo tiempo con toda oración y súplica en el Espíritu:

• Significado: La oración constante y ferviente es esencial en la vida del creyente. Orar "en el Espíritu" significa ser guiado y fortalecido por el Espíritu Santo en la oración.
• Aplicación: Mantener una vida de oración continua, pidiendo la ayuda de Dios y velando con perseverancia no solo por uno mismo, sino también por otros creyentes.
