Cucumber and Can
Cucumber was green in garden,
It grew beautiful, juicy and long.
Beside it lay empty aluminum Can,
Which dreamed of some second chance.
One day gardener passed by,
He saw Cucumber and Can,
He picked Сucumber from garden
And at the same time grabbed empty Can.

Cucumber was very delicious,
Gardener added it to vegetable stew,
Then he shook soil out of Can
And added it to pile of aluminum scrap.
Now Cucumber has become part of delicious dinner,
It was praised as gift of nature.
Beer Can, along with other garbage, went to oven,
Gardener was fond of melting aluminum and copper.
So Cucumber and Can found their place in life,
They have changed and acquired useful qualities.
They realized that everyone has purpose in life.
Anyone could envy these ordinary-looking things.
When guests sat down to start dinner
With wonderful vegetable stew,
Former Can, already part of fresh aluminum ingot,
Was heading to nearest plant.
When guests finished stew and started on dessert,
Our familiar piece of aluminum had already become
Spare part for brand new rocket,
Which was launched as soon as it was assembled.
When guests sat imposingly around fireplace
To smoke fragrant cigar after dinner,
Enemy missile, fired in response to first salvo,
Was already approaching house.
Unfortunately, we don’t have time to tell what happened next.
What is known for certain, is that remains of Cucumber
Rested in their native land, while particles of aluminum Can
Traveled huge distance before death,
However, to say that Can managed to see world before death,
Would be a bit of an exaggeration.
