I climbed a mountain today looking for sapphires & rubies, aka corundum.
It almost killed me as I didn't bring enough water, the temperature reached about 78deg and I had on a heavy winter coat since it was 50deg in the morning when I started.
One of the main things that kept me going was banging Drum and Bass tunes. I listened to about 6 podcasts back to back during the hike. Here are 3 heaters from those podcasts that kept me going.
First up to set the mood. Getting away from the city, into nature to find some incredible garnets and corundum, take me away.
Kanine - Take Me Away (ft. Nu-La)
As I walked around the mountain looking for the corundum I found a huge outcrop of garnets. Really damn nice and large. I picked a bunch up, but had to dump some because just on the other of the mountain I located the corundum and almost lost my breath. I have been searching these mountains for years trying to find them.
Andromedik - Air (ft. Lauren L'aimant)
It was already 2:30pm and I had been hiking/prospecting since 7am, so I quickly had to pack what I could find and get ready for the grueling hike back down the mountain with about 100 pounds on my back & in a second bag, plus one monster rock in my free hand. Ya, easily over 100lbs total. What ever I did, I did not want to fall off the edge of the world.
V O E - Edge of the World
I ended up having to leave my huge rock on the mountain, about a 1/4 of the way down because I was too exhausted. Not even banging drum and bass could power me to carry that rock.
I made it back to my truck at 4:15 dangerously exhausted and dehydrated. I sat in my truck for about 5 min to cool down and drink water & tea. Which leads me to my wild card tune, Dangerous.
Futurebound - Dangerous (Doloren Remix) [20 Years of Viper]
Dangerous in more ways than one. Even as I type this I am planning to go back in 2 days. I have to get my large rock filled with crystals and go scour the rest of the mountain side which has lots more crystals waiting. This time I'll bring more water and plenty of drum and bass.
I'll do another post about what I found later, but here's a teaser.
Thanks for listening!
Thanks to @boxcarblue for introducing me to #TTT and @ablaze for dreaming it up.
