This is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw
Marasmius is a genus of mushroom that contributes many beautiful and interesting mushroom variants, both in terms of size, shape & color. And on today's edition of FungiFriday, December 1 2023, I want to share two types of Marasmius mushrooms with two different colors but both have almost the same umbrella shape. Of course both of them are also very beautiful, their beauty cannot be denied, they are really beautiful! I think so :)
The first marasmius fungus is purple, or perhaps we could call it the "purple cap", I found it growing on rotten grass stems. The place where the marasmius fungus grows is slightly different from mushrooms in general which grow on rotten wood, twigs or palm oil fronds. But for the genus Marasmius fungus, I myself often find them growing on rotten leaves and some grow on rotten grass stems like the marasmius fungus that I am sharing.
Then the second marasmius mushroom is red or at first glance it also looks like pink and the same as the marasmius mushroom above, I also find this red marasmius mushroom growing on rotten grass stems, in a location not far from where I found the purple marasmius mushroom above.
This red marasmius mushroom seems to be part of the Marasmius haematocephalus fungus. The texture of this mushroom is like a perfectly ripe Javanese apple ready to be tasted :)
