Hello friends,
Happy #FungiFriday to all of you.
The growth of mushrooms was encouraged by a prolonged, humid time with temperatures above 10 degrees. Several common species for this time of year were there, along with a few species that were present for an extended period of time.
The optimal conditions for moss growth were sun and rain cycles accompanied by warm temperatures, particularly on trees with trunks that get a prolonged shadow. These spots are in a nearby park and have deciduous trees that get shade during the day.
My eye was initially drawn to a 10-cm-sized polypore fungus that contrasted with the moss growing from the tree's bark.
As I continued moving along the tree line, I started to inspect the moss and observed that there were many white dots at different tree heights.
As I got closer, I could see that they were little mushrooms emerging from dense moss.
On the soil just next to the tree, several kinds of mushrooms appear in the moss. Since they are still in the early days of growth, they are little and so difficult to spot among the abundance of fallen leaves beneath the tree.
The shape and color of the last one strongly resemble a human nose.
