FungiFriday - The true morels

in #hive-1513272 years ago

Hello friends,

Happy #FungiFriday to all of you.

Due to the weather conditions and increase in temperature, true morel mushrooms have appeared. Last year, in May, I discovered them on the outskirts of a deciduous poplar and Siberian elm forest.

This area of land was utilized as a waste dump by locals for decades. The area immediately adjacent to the village, has been undergoing a multi-phase process of re-cultivation and land use modification over the last ten years. Afforestation was done in stages, primarily with deciduous acacia, Siberian elm, and poplar trees.

I found about twenty of the true morels mushrooms, mostly a few meters apart from each other, along the forest road in an area with a large amount of plastic and rubber waste.

I never pick mushrooms in environments that are contaminated by traffic, waste plastic, rubber and pesticides, regardless of the type and quantity of mushrooms.

These mushrooms will continue their life cycle in the forest as long as their season lasts. And after that, I expect them again from the second half of April next year.
