Namaste!
This is my entry for #FungiFriday initiative by @ewkaw 🙏
This happened exactly a week ago, that is, last Friday evening. Another pleasant evening after a day of cloudy sky and some rain when I reached the park for a walk. The grass has grown a little longer after the recent rains. I was walking casually when suddenly, far away from me, I saw something white in the grass.
And even in my dreams, there was no thought of a mushroom because it was still twice the size of a baseball and I had never even seen a mushroom bigger than a cue ball. So I thought that someone must have thrown garbage in the park and I should clean it so I went closer to that thing.
As I took a few steps closer to it, I started seeing its shape like a half circle of thermocol inside a helmet. I thought it might have been blown here by the strong winds. I was still beyond the truth of this thing.
But then as I came a little closer to it, I realized that it was like a mushroom, although I still could not believe it because as I told you, I have always seen mushrooms of this size very small. But this was really a wonderful surprise.
This was an amazing experience for me, I don't know when and how it became so big here in a public place, how no one else has seen it till now. Just a day ago I came here for a walk and at that time I had not seen it here, it may have been a little small then but still it is growing here quite well is no less than a miracle.
I tried to take many pictures of it but the focus was not being set on its cap due to which everything else is visible except this mushroom. Although its stem is clearly visible in some pictures, I could not get the pictures of its cap as I wanted.
Apart from some minor cuts on its cap, this mushroom was completely safe. Do you remember the last time I posted about a mushroom which was edible but then the very next day I did not find it there? I didn't want to repeat that mistake again so this time I brought this mushroom home even though I am also not sure about it being edible.
And that's why this is my question to all you mushroom experts including the admin of this community, @ewkaw is this mushroom edible?
At present, I have cut this big mushroom and kept it in my refrigerator and I have planted its little companion in a pot in the hope that this little mushroom will also become equal to its elder brother.
That's all for today's blog.
