My line of work is so demanding that I need to show proof of productivity is highly mandatory. I have to first give a weekly report of my daily tasks, followed by a performance review for the month to clearly discuss how productive my department has been, especially in comparison to previous months. Of course I've never been short of productivity, but the results I've gotten have been nothing short of preparation. I've always had to be on my toes day in day out coming up with small wins through consistency that has made my job more productive. There's also a place to sacrifice, especially when I work overtime Even when I'm not paid for it. But then again this consistency came through 3 life hacks I've employed every single day to keep me going.
BE HAPPY
I try to first find my happiness no matter what. As simple as it looks, it's not easy being happy even when you don't feel like being happy. There are things that put me in that happy mood, for example morning exercises help me feel more alive and ready to crush my day. But in case I skip my morning exercises, food does well to come in handy. I would walk into the office before 8:00 am, and dash into the cafeteria to eat. Like they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. I don't really need to speak, a full belle is enough to keep me going. Movies also put me in the mood especially when the task is becoming hectic and I just need to relax for an hour. I could be doing linear jobs and be watching a movie at the same time.
START SIMPLE
This comes in handy when I have a lot to do and in my head I'm thinking how to start. I try as much as possible to start simple before I move to the hard part. This gives my mind time to catch up on the daily activities and before you know it, I'm in the working mood and could ride in that mood for hours without stopping. So many times I would be in that mood and lose track of time and before I know it, it's past my closing time and I have encroached into the next day's task. Some days I watch movies half of the day because I don't have anything to do and this is because I've spent the majority of the time doing simple things until I have nothing to do anymore.
