Coffee and dreams. #STB Coffee Prompt Week 74 (June 23 - 25)

When sleep gradually leaves me, my first thought is usually a desire... I wish with all my heart that my husband would wake up first and make the coffee! We have had this pact for more than thirty years: whoever wakes up first makes the coffee. I may have cheated a little bit! But this is no secret. My husband is a gentle person by nature and smiles when he sees that I don't want to get up.
We usually get up very early so that we can make the most of the time and have a little time to read the press and comment on the news. So we drink coffee while we read the press. It's always a strong black coffee and we repeat the dose as many times as we feel like while this little oasis before the daily work begins.

This is one of my favorite photos, because it illustrates a basic relationship in my home: coffee, reading and cats. We also have a dog. I must say this for the record, as I'm sure she reads my thoughts and may be offended.

Having coffee in bed also gives me a unique opportunity: to listen to the story of my husband's dreams. He has the most extraordinary and weirdest dreams I have ever heard. To make my point, I have to give you some background information: my dreams are boring as hell most of the time, almost always pure mental drivel. Maybe that's why I really like to listen to people's dreams, although I can't always do it. Obviously, I don't go around asking "What did you dream last night?", although in the milieu in which I move, which is that of writers and artists, dreams are usually a topic of conversation, as a matter of creation.
Well, my husband has the strangest and most fascinating dreams. They are like movies, very structured and he remembers them very well.
I haven't strayed from the coffee theme, not much. I believe that coffee is that kind and omnipresent companion that makes you kindly live experiences. I like to drink coffee in bed for those reasons.

This photograph could illustrate well what I have just said. If the story of a dream accompanied by coffee resembles anything, it is this photograph. I took it during a plant exhibition at my work. It is one of the most beautiful parts of what I do: offering beauty for the people of my city. Too bad about the plastic cup!

However, there is not always time for coffees in bed and you have to go to work very early trying to gain hours in the day.
So I always look for a way to have coffee at work. Lately I chose to bring a glass mug so I can drink my coffee enjoying the beauty of the riquirriques in the garden of the colonial house where I work.
I know I'm just passing through, but I feel lucky to be at Casa Ramos Sucre, in such a beautiful space that means so much to me.

Here you can see the poet José Antonio Ramos Sucre, whose work is the reason for the existence of the Casa where I work.
Having my early morning coffee here, while the Casa is alone and I can walk through it without interruptions is really nice.
On these tours I can think quietly about the things that occupy me and also dream of what is to come. Problems then seem manageable and everything I want to write finds its place.

That's sweet 😊

Ruff ruff!

Dreams are indeed fascinating and something that we don't pay enough attention to.
I tend to have lucid dreams that are so real that I need to be careful.

Birds of paradise flowers are one of my favourite flowers.

This was a lovely read:)

Do you have lucid dreams? I have always found this specialty to be wonderful. My dreams are more along the lines of "I'm standing in line to buy bread and my money disappears".
You would have great conversations with my husband, who often has those kinds of dreams. It has even sounded, with subtitles, as if they were movies.

Thanks for appreciating my ramblings. I appreciate the opportunity the team provides to think about things we might otherwise tune out, and that opportunity is valuable.
