Have you ever imagined a latte without lactose?

Greetings dear friends of Hive, today I bring you an alternative to win a battle against lactose intolerance. I know that many will find this preparation strange, but I thought I would try a different way of preparing coffee. Many of us love to enjoy a delicious coffee with milk, but unfortunately not all of us are lactose tolerant and that forces us to limit its consumption to avoid unpleasant consequences.

Looking for alternatives to compensate for this inconvenience, I decided to prepare a delicious coffee with milk, but this time a special one, since I made it with vegetable milk extracted from a coconut.

At first I did it as a test to see how it turned out and I tell you that I loved it; it’s a different but pleasant flavor. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

*01 grated coconut
*01 cup of water
*1/2 cup of black coffee
*Cinnamon or vanilla to taste

Preparation

The coconut is liquefied with the water and then it is passed through a strainer to extract the milk. Then this milk is heated a little, the coffee, vanilla or cinnamon are added and it is mixed in the blender for about two minutes or until it is very frothy.

Then serve and enjoy. You can serve it with some cookies if you prefer.

Tip: the coconut milk must be warm before mixing it with the coffee, for this you can take it to the stove and when it just starts to boil it is time to remove it from the heat. Be careful not to let it get too hot to avoid incidents when blending. I put it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it was enough.

Coconut has nutritional properties such as vitamins C, E, B and it is also rich in several minerals such as calcium, potassium and phosphorus that are vital for the proper functioning of the body, so including it regularly in your basic diet will be of great benefit to your well-being.

Try this recipe and if you like it write me in the comments. Hugs to all!

I truly love this idea my friend. I will surely try this one, once I have the time hehe.

It's delicious, it's worth trying this alternative. There is always a coffee for everyone. Hugs!

Aweee, so excited to find the ingredients and try it out at home. Thanks again my friend.

Hello @alborhada
I love coconut milk; the smell, the taste, and the consistency. I have made my own coconut milk in the Philippines...funnily, just yesterday my Filipina neighbour sent me the photos of me making the coconut milk 😊...however, I've never tried coffee combined with coconut milk.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Hi @millycf1976 I'm glad you liked this recipe, you should prepare it. For it to be creamier the coconut milk must be fresh and warm before beating. The creaminess is extraordinary. Thanks for your comment. Hugs!

Hello @alborhada,
Thank you for adding further details about the coconut milk, which is important to note.
I appreciate it very much.

Not bad, good idea i should try it! I imagine coconut would only go with certain coffee notes though

I wasn't sure if it would taste good, but the end result exceeded my expectations and I loved it. Sometimes it is good to break paradigms and dare to try new recipes. The coffee flavor was more predominant than the coconut. Dare to prepare it. Thanks for your comment.

It is an excellent idea for people who suffer from dairy intolerance, plus the coconut flavor should give an exotic flavor to the coffee with milk, thanks for sharing.

Yes, it's worth a try. I thought that the coconut flavor was going to be very strong but it was not, the coffee flavor was predominant and when it was mixed with the coconut it caused a pleasant mixture. Thanks for visiting!

It was a pleasure, best regards

Thank you, I appreciate the support for my publication. Regards

I've tried coconut milk in coffee in the past and really liked it. But I only ever used the pre-made stuff you can buy at the grocery store. I'm impressed that you made your own with shaved coconut and the blender. I bet its very fresh and flavorful that way.

Thanks for sharing.

You will love it, I think the flavor is more pleasant extracting it directly from the coconut than the one sold canned. Hugs!
