Every day, I have coffee at home, sticking to my usual routine. But today, I craved something different. Instead of brewing my typical cup, I decided to venture down to the lobby and try a nearby coffee shop. It wasn’t anything special from the outside—just a simple, unassuming place with no flashy decorations or grand signs. But as soon as I stepped inside and ordered, I was pleasantly surprised.
I decided to try their coffee, of course, but also something new for breakfast. I went with a dish that caught my eye: chicken carbonara. It wasn't the typical creamy, rich version you might expect; instead, it came without the sauce, just perfectly seasoned with chili garlic oil and a side of fresh salad. The simplicity of the dish was what made it stand out—it had a unique flavor profile that was a refreshing change from what I usually have.
Alongside that, I had a cappuccino with caramel flavor. It was smooth and not overly sweet, just the right balance of bitterness and caramel richness. It was the kind of coffee that hit the spot, exactly what I needed. My taste buds were satisfied, and I felt content with this little change in my morning routine. After a while, my husband joined me. He decided to stick with his usual cappuccino, no fancy flavors, just the classic. As we sipped our drinks, we had a quiet conversation. It’s rare that we get to catch up these days. Our schedules don’t align very often—he leaves the house early, usually before I wake up, and comes home late, often around 3 a.m. It can be tough to find time for each other with such a hectic routine. But in that moment, over coffee, we managed to chat about little things, catching up on the parts of our lives we miss out on during the day. Even though our lives are busy, those small moments of connection, like having coffee together, remind me of the importance of slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures. It was a simple day, but it felt special because of the chance to break away from the ordinary and share something different.
