When talking about hidden gems, there is a coffee shop that caught my attention. I think this is very suitable to be called a hidden gems coffee shop in my city. Wait, there are so many coffee shops, but this coffee shop is a recommendation if you are in my area, the city of Medan.
It is said to be a hidden gem because of its location which may be very difficult to find, unlike most other fancy coffee shops such as Starbucks, Kopisoe, and various other coffee shop brand that are loved by many groups. This coffee shop has a different taste, even very distinctive with a simple but exclusive taste.
Jilid Satu Coffee Shop, located between a row of shop houses with a width of less than 5 meters, was able to interest me this time. This was my first impression of this coffee shop, even though at first, Jilid Satu was able to drive away some of the coffee shops that were in my heart. There are so many reasons why I highly recommend this coffee shop as one of the best coffee shops in the city of Medan, even now it is at the top of the list. As you know, I am a coffee shop connoisseur in terms of taste, ambiance and comfort of a coffee shop, especially coffee shops in the city of Medan.
Ordered a cup of coffee milk without added sugar, they serve coffee with the right taste, just like I always wanted. A cup of milk coffee with ice cubes that refreshes the tongue, not bitter but not too sweet, everything tastes very natural from coffee and milk. There are some coffee flavors that are too bitter but the aroma is so strong, but not with the coffee milk served by Jilid Satu Coffee Shop. The aroma of coffee is strong and distinctive with a mixture of milk that is not too buttery but very comfortable on the tongue. My throat doesn't hesitate to swallow it, this is what makes me like the coffee they serve.
The second reason is the taste of the snacks they sell, I chose a pain au chocolate, a croissant filled with chocolate. Well, this is what I want, the taste of the pain au chocolate they serve is very soft. They serve it warm, it feels like it's freshly baked and it really makes my heart melt. As I took a bite, I was absolutely certain that this was the best pain au chocolate I've ever eaten.
Why is it so delicious? Because the taste of the croissant dough is very soft, has many layers and the chocolate is very pronounced. Unlike other pain au chocolates where too much chocolate can even stain my clothes. The taste is very dense with just the right taste, not too much and not too little, highlighting the distinctive taste of the croissant itself. So, this pain au chocolate can still be eaten together with the coffee milk that I ordered.
I think this is perfect for me who really likes croissants and coffee. Both are very balanced and no less interesting than a fancy coffee shop design. Even though it is in a non-strategic location, among the many shop houses that are neatly lined up, this coffee shop has a comfortable place in terms of design and architecture. Especially for coffee shop lovers to just feed their Instagram, this coffee shop has a pretty fresh design and is no less interesting than other coffee shops.
Comfortable enough for those of you who like a relaxed atmosphere or just want to work in a coffee shop, let alone rent a working space which is quite expensive, this coffee shop is a frugal recommendation for creative workers who want to get a new atmosphere at work, because it is quite empty of customers. But I'm afraid that if many people know about this coffee shop and it will be crowded, I won't be able to relax because it's crowded with lots of people! #TCSP
