Joining Hive has been nothing short of a wonderful experience for me so far. From virtually meeting people from all over the world, to enjoying exquisitely written posts by super talented individuals, to challenging the few active brain cells I have and pushing them to do the work 😃
One of my first, and most favourite posts on here, was actually in this amazing community. It was a contest where one would describe their favourite coffee shop - real or imaginary (adding the link here so you can give it a read if you feel like it). Back when I wrote it, I never would've imagined being able to somewhat visit the place I had only seen in my wildest dreams. I say somewhat because no matter how much I'd like to go back in time, I could never go back to the 50s. So 2023 would have to do.
And, as luck would have it, 2 years later I'd find myself sitting in a cute French restaurant with my lovely daughter, enjoying a hot cup of coffee and admiring French art...La vie en rose indeed.
Life can be quite breathtaking sometimes. Who would've thought that an ordinary day in the life of any Parisian man or woman, can be so magical to someone else. Admiring the Montmartre art from a cozy booth at Le Sabot Rouge, while drinking a delicious café au lait in the best company ever.
Just one sip of the cafe au lait and I was instantly travelling through time, back to the 1950s. And just like in my first story on here, I was observing every single detail of my surroundings. The colours around me became so much more delicate and serene, people seemed to be moving in slow motion...Like in the movies. Everyone looked like they were in their own little bubble of life, not paying attention to anything around them. And then there was me, breathing it all in. Pinching myself as even though this was my second day in Paris, I still couldn't believe I was living it. I was in my favourite coffee place, but just about 70 years later 😉
And so there is one question that lingers in the back of my head...Did I shape my own reality? Were the stars aligned in my favour? Was I manifesting my Paris cafe experience two years ago?
No matter the odds (which, let's face it, are 99% not in my favour), I would like to believe that it was meant to be. That I was meant to be in that specific Paris endroit, on that early summer evening, sipping on a hot cup of café au lait and admiring the beauty around me.
Serendipity...
