Happy weekend, coffee lovers!

If a friend offers me a French press or a moka pot as a gift, I choose the French press. Why? I have never had one, hehe, and I would love to learn how to use it. For as long as I can remember and have had a taste for coffee, I have made my coffee at home in a moka pot. We have had a couple of coffee makers to make espresso, but I always prefer to make it in a moka pot, to be honest.

In these days that I am in Colombia, I have gone to several coffee shops and I have tried coffees with different filtering methods and I like them all, especially for the afternoon coffee. The filtered coffees are less intense but allow perceiving different flavors in the coffee, I find that they have a natural sweet taste and are perfect to drink with a sweet pastry in the afternoon.

So if my friend is offering me a coffee when I visit him. If it's in the afternoon I would tell him to make it in French Press to enjoy it slowly as we chat. If it is a morning visit, I would probably choose the Moka Pot to have that shot of intense coffee so necessary for me in the morning hours, LOL.

At home in the morning my moka pot does not fail, hehe. Here in Bogota we have one and a manual grinder.

I love to drink my morning coffee with freshly ground coffee that impregnates the morning with its aroma. Cheers!☕️

A very wise decision! While both brewing tools offer quite good methods to brew coffee, the French press makes something that I will like more too. It has simpler design and if your brewing technique is good you will always end with a very tasty coffee!

I think I'll have to get a French press and start experimenting with it. Cheers! ☕️ And Happy Sunday!

Hi!
We agree quite a bit in our tastes, @coquicoin . Add two items to consider: mocha coffee makers are traditional in Latin America, I hadn't stopped to think that perhaps my preference over coffee made in a French Press had to do with the familiarity of home.
The other interesting issue you point out is time, and it is true that for many a milder coffee in the afternoon is ideal.
Best regards and happy coffee day!

I don't have much experience with the French press either, but it must give a different flavor than the greca. I will keep an eye out for places in Maracay where they have this other way of preparing coffee. Happy day.

In Caracas I have seen a few cafes that offer coffees with different filtering methods but they seem excessively expensive to me, so never tried them there. That is why I am taking advantage of these days to try them because here in Colombia they are much more affordable.

Hello @coquicoin, an excellent choice, long live the curiosity that leads us to want to explore how much coffee can offer us. I like the idea of the grinder, these days a friend told me that she bought the grain and liquefied it but I have the impression that it should not be a fine grain, I am more attracted to the mill. Greetings, happy Sunday.😊

I think in a blender they should not be ground well. I have a small electric coffee grinder at home, it is perfect and much cheaper than the manual one we have here. But the advantage of this manual is that it is perfect for traveling and the material is very resistant, plus it is also good for exercising my arms LOL.
Happy Sunday! saludos 😄☕️
