In this place there are several things that remind you of the importance of coffee and on your way through the place you can find coffee shops, people who sell you coffee in different ways, the Casa del Café where you learn everything you want to know about this drink and several cafes where you can have a delicious cup of coffee.
The place in question is Tope de Collantes which is located 347 kilometers from Havana, in central Cuba.
We left Havana at 6Am and arrived after 12 noon because the car had a technical problem and we had to wait for it to be fixed. Once the problem was fixed we continued on our way.
When we arrived at the place it was incredible how the four companions that were with us went to the cafeteria that is in the lobby of the Hotel. In this place we were attended by two young men and they told us that we were the first guests of the day to have coffee. As we talked about the place we were impressed by the knowledge they have about coffee, how it is produced and the different ways to prepare it.
That was our welcome cup of coffee and we were pleased that it served as our welcome. I must say that I could not drink my Cortaito coffee which is the one I like the most because they did not have milk to make it, but I still enjoyed the Expresso coffee they served us.
It was not the best cup of coffee I have ever had, but I, as well as the rest of my colleagues, praised the high quality of the beverage. Nevertheless, this cup served to discuss how we wanted to spend this week, where we wanted to go and the main ups and downs of our adventure.
This was the beginning of a week in which we enjoyed nature and its bounties and in which drinking coffee was one of the things we enjoyed and did the most.
That's all for the moment. Later on I will publish other writings about my passage through other coffee shops in this beautiful place of the Cuban geography.
