My dad, my Love for coffee, and my first date.

I grew up listening to a lovely argument between my dad and mum.

My dad's love of coffee was next to none, while my mum's love of other tea except coffee was something I didn't understand.

I always find their argument so interesting and lovely.

On this faithful day, I walked up to my dad and asked "Daddy, why did you love this dark tea so much?

He laughed and laughed for about fifteen(15) seconds. He replied and said to me "Son the secret to my healthy living is "coffee" which you referred to as "dark tea".

I was amazed and I asked how daddy?

He sat me down and told me to go get a pen and a book. He added that I would need to write down some important stuff, and I replied "Okay Daddy".

He took his time to educate me about the health benefits of coffee, and after the discussion, my love for coffee was next to none just exactly like that of my dad.

Dad said your mum was once a coffee lover, it was after we got married she decided to stop drinking coffee, and her reason for that was something "I could not comprehend up till this very moment", he added.

He said could you believe your mum said yes to me at a coffee shop in 1982, I screamed wow! and I asked, "How did that happen, sir"?

He smiled and said to me "Son that would be a discussion for another day, but I want you to promise me that, your first date must be at the Coffee shop, I replied, "Consider it a done deal sir".

This came into play when I was in the University, management Sciences to be precise. I had a crush on Remmy and I never knew she felt the same for me.

Remmy was in her final year while I was in the 200 level.

We ran into each other at the cafeteria and we couldn't stop looking and staring at each other.

I was too shy to make a move and I couldn't just help staring at her.

When she was about to exit the cafeteria, she walked up to me and said "Hi handsome, can I have your digit"?

I was stoked and I was like "Emh emh sure you can have it"

We exchanged numbers and I asked "A date cool"? She replied "Of course yes"

A few days later, we met at a coffee shop close to the university. we discussed at length and she said yes to being my girlfriend and that was how everything started.

Everything was fine and cool, but after her final year examination, she went for service, and along the line, I lost her contact, I guess she lost mine as well, but I believe we are going to see again.
