It is interesting the different ways to awaken curiosity. Before dedicating myself to writing these reviews I did not pay much attention to see what brands of coffee the different supermarkets in my city offered, I simply went to the same place and bought the same coffee as always.
Now I am very attentive to the small stores. It is there, in those stores, where I have seen, in recent times, some brands of coffee that I did not know.
These days while I was walking through a sector of the city, to which I rarely go, a mini market crossed my path. It seemed that I had little time in that sector, so without thinking too much I went to see if I could find any surprises.
When I looked at the shelves dedicated to coffee, I noticed a rather simple package, with a minimalist design. When I checked it I realized that it was one of those coffees that in my country have received the denomination of gourmet, so I decided to buy a package of two hundred grams to try it.

In the information provided on the package we are told that this "San Salvador" coffee is 100% Arabica, which is an export product produced in Turén, in the state of Portuguesa, where other better known brands such as Amanecer and Della Nonna are also produced.
When I got home I proceeded to do the same tests that I have done with the other brands. I took the same measure of coffee, used the same amount of water, and prepared my greca coffee maker. The sound of steam indicated that the water had reached the boiling point, but something was not right. Unlike other times I did not feel the aroma of coffee flooding the kitchen.
I made the comment to my wife and she confirmed that in fact the aroma was not very intense.
I poured a cup of coffee without sugar and when I tasted it it did not taste bad, it was milder than I like, it had a slight bitter taste and very little acidity.

For the second taste I waited a few minutes. When the coffee was at room temperature I tasted it again. The flavor remained almost the same and the acidity was not higher than that of the hot coffee. This detail indicated to me that the coffee was of good quality.
I had a conversation with my wife and we came to the conclusion that the coffee deserved a second chance. I waited several days to test it again.
This time I added half a measure more of coffee, in total a measure and a half for the same amount of water as always.
When the coffee maker reached the boiling temperature the change was noticeable in relation to the first time. Now the rich aroma that flooded my kitchen was coming out of the coffee pot.
I poured my cup of hot coffee without sugar and I liked the flavor very much, it was more intense, it left its trace on the palate.

This time I found it unnecessary to try drinking it at room temperature, I already knew that the coffee was not going to feel more acidic.
The rest of the week we continued drinking San Salvador coffee until the package we had bought ran out.
After all the tests and the tasting of the week my conclusion is that this coffee could be recommended with the clarification that it is not very yielding.
Perhaps it could work very well for people who like to drink a mild coffee.
My wife and I decided not to consider it among our purchase options, it seems to us that with other brands we can have a good flavor and at a more economical price.
In any case, please take into consideration that this is only my opinion. If you see this "San Salvador" coffee on the shelf, give it a try. You might be able to appreciate something that escaped me.
Thanks for your time.
