A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially coffee lovers. Today I want to share with you a simple but wonderful experience. I got up early to make some delicious coffee to take to my friends who were working hard to spruce up the community park. There was no better way to start the day than sharing a hot cup of coffee with my loved ones as they worked together to improve our environment.
Since the month of December, the whole community, together with the municipality, decorated the park with Christmas lights and ornaments, touched up the worn paint on the benches and playground equipment. But with the arrival of January it was time to remove the ornamentation. Among the team of people that was organized to carry out this beautiful task were my two great friends, Edgardo and Johannel. And since I couldn't go with them because my leg is still a little weak, I decided to support them by bringing them a thermos of delicious hot coffee.
I brewed a large amount of coffee in my coffee pot and served it in my favorite thermos to go. I also took small plastic cups, very common here, used by street coffee vendors. In Venezuela, we are innate coffee lovers, on any street corner you will find a coffee vendor. These characters are characterized by carrying several thermoses and small plastic cups and sell you coffee at very cheap prices, about $0.20, it is a basic coffee but it solves an emergency if you really want to drink coffee and you have no money or you are far from a coffee shop. So my dear @aly.squid and I went to deliver coffee in the park of my community, with our thermos and our plastic cups.
I prepared everything with a lot of love and excitement, knowing it would be a special day. When I arrived at the park, my friends were working enthusiastically. They looked tired but happy to be together, collaborating to improve our community space. I greeted them with a smile and offered them a cup of hot coffee. Their faces lit up as they saw that I was bringing them a little something to encourage them in their work.
The morning flew by amidst conversations, laughter and the delicious aroma of coffee that filled the air. We also distributed coffee to all the people of the community who were collaborating, but I could not take pictures of them, because although they kindly received the coffee and we shared smiles, they did not like the idea of being photographed. I respectfully asked them, but they refused; and I understand that since this is a rural community that is not very used to these dynamics. But most importantly, everyone enjoyed a delicious hot coffee.
I have always said that in my country, coffee has a deep sense of community. And being here at this activity, handing out coffee to my neighbors, sharing smiles and stories, while working for a common good, helped me to reaffirm this idea.
It was a day full of love, friendship and coffee, a perfect combination that made everything even more special. I am grateful to have such amazing friends and to be able to share such beautiful moments together and above all to be able to share our passion for coffee.
I hope you enjoy my post and I encourage you to share this type of coffee sometimes, to pamper your friends or neighbors. For now I say goodbye and leave you a hug.
