Coffee lovers we love to discover new places. Enjoying a cup of coffee in a different environment is always a pleasure. And if that place is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful areas of the city, then the pleasure is double.
I find myself at the Hotel Inglaterra with its renowned Café Le Louvre. This place and the sidewalk in front of it was where many of the patriots and renowned Cuban intellectuals of the 19th century gathered to talk about the politics of the country and their conspiracies against the colonial government of that time.
The Inglaterra Hotel is very popular, not only because it is one of the most renowned hotels in Havana, but also because it is located in one of the most central avenues of Havana, on the "Paseo del Prado", in front of the Central Park. Here, sitting at the Café-Restaurant El Louvre, which is part of the hotel, there are always many foreigners who come to enjoy the offers of the place while admiring the beauty of Havana's streets.
This day I was strolling around with my friend @lileisabel, we had walked a lot around the city and, when we arrived at the hotel, we just wanted to sit down to rest and regain energy. So, we decided to stop by and relax in this emblematic place. The terrace was almost full, so we opted to go into the Bar-Café. It was a wise decision, inside it was almost empty, we had the place to ourselves and, best of all, it was very quiet, something I was very grateful for because Havana is very beautiful, but too noisy! 😄
It was the first time I had entered the Hotel Inglaterra, and I marveled at its beauty. The walls were being restored by a team of specialists, and there was some scaffolding around, but still the place looked beautiful. The walls had arches adorned with stained glass and elaborate designs, as well as colorful tiles. Many of these designs are original from the beginning of the hotel and everything is very well preserved. This is one of the oldest hotels in Havana.
As soon as we sat down we were served, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. We ordered a cappuccino, and they brought us a big cup, I was really expecting it to be smaller, so I was very pleased. I love the way the cappuccino looks with its foam and the touch of cinnamon on top. You feel like not stirring it and letting it look that nice, but in the end I had to add sugar and mix all the ingredients to enjoy the whole delicious taste.
In this cafeteria the coffee is a little more expensive than in other places due to its location, but it is worth it to indulge yourself. They also sell delicious sweets. It is a nice, cozy, and very popular place. I was delighted with everything and looking forward to a repeat visit in the future.
I hope, and I'm sure you liked the site as much as I did 😉. I bid you farewell, until next time.
