Back in May this year, while on the way to Cebu City from Oslob, I asked my husband that we stop by Teology Cafe in Minglanilla for snacks. From Southern Cebu, it takes at least three hours to reach the city, if the traffic is heavy, it might take longer so being on the road for hours made me hungry.
Teology Cafe is located in FCT Commercial Building, it's just on the ground floor and there's a spacious parking area so it was easy for those who are on wheels.
We arrived past three in the afternoon so it was just right for some afternoon snacks. I was aiming to have my milk tea because it has been scorching hot that day.
The cafe has a huge display of their name outside and a thick tint on its glass walls. I understand this setup because, in the afternoon, this area here gets a lot of sun exposure.
I went straight inside and found a typical cafe, they got their counter and some staff working on the orders, there are tables on the ground floor and there are more spaces on the second floor. In fact, there are also seats and tables outside but I guess they'll get occupied in the later part of the day when it's not that hot anymore.
Before coming here, I always see advertisements on my social media application about this cafe, one of those that attracted me the most was the food - they serve burgers and quesadillas too! So I was aiming to try that for today's snack.
There's an artificial tree by the way inside the cafe, it's red and it felt like it's autumn in this part of the country! I took photos of the interiors after asking the staff if it was fine. I still can't move on from what we had experienced at
Coffee Project Talisay.
Anyway, the staff were very busy while I was on the way up, I snapped a photo of them, they got many online orders I guess and at this hour, there were also many customers inside. When we reached the second floor, there were three tables occupied.
So I intended those photos above to showcase the red artificial tree that is displayed inside the cafe. There are several hanging lights too which give a moody ambiance. But I guess these things contributed to the cafe's hot atmosphere. Aside from the hot weather outside, the air conditioners on the second floor were not able to keep up with the temperature.
With a mask on, I felt like I couldn't breathe properly. I intentionally went downstairs to get some air since the airconditioning on the ground floor was better.
A staff went to get our orders, we were seated at the end and as you could see in the photo above, there's an air conditioner but it was not cooling at all so they also provided an air cooler placed on the other side.
After a few minutes, our orders arrived!
Here's my milk tea in large size, I was just super thirsty, I guess I finished this in just a few minutes, I asked them to make my sugar level at 50% only so I am glad that I could taste that this indeed has tea in it!
Here comes the quesadillas!
My husband is a fan of quesadillas so I am glad to order that for him. He loves it though, well, anything that has a lot of cheese would already be a winner! This one here has a generous amount of cheese in it which makes it really good. Well, it's four cheese quesadillas in the first place! It was also served really hot and so even after taking a few photos after it was placed on the table, it was still warm.
I also got a creamy carbonara. It was served with a few slices of toasted bread. I finished it fast too! I am a fast eater actually. But both were yummy so it was easy for us to finish them and leave nothing on the plate!
I really like that they have customized their paper mats, in fat, it looked really cute.
As for the pricing, I find them on the expensive side. I based it on the amount of serving versus the price. The quesadillas were worth Php 205 while the Carbonara was at Php 250 and the serving was just enough for one person.
Well, I don't know if it's expensive for others but for me, I felt like it was too much. Even their vegetable salads are priced almost the same as that of Oh George in Ayala and Oh George serves a huge amount of serving! It can even be shared among three persons.
Anyway, I guess it was good for the experience but I believe that might be our first and last visit of the cafe!
