Hello there! Your post has left me realising that for coffee shops, yes, I do prefer the ambience on the inside. That's compared to say dining at a restaurant, where I prefer to be on the outside. It's something to do with the atmosphere I think. Even the layout and organisation of tables and chairs, the temperature as you've mentioned, and just being able to look at the coffee paraphernalia while dining, enhances the experience.
