Answering this question to start our conversation #60:

Some people drink coffee to stay awake and feel more alert, is there a more effective method to increase concentration?

In my college days, if I used to use it to stay awake and alert, because there were many exams in one day and it required a lot of concentration, I did it with many cups of coffee.

Nowadays, I take it as a stimulant in the morning to give me the necessary energy to activate me in my daily chores, if I don't have coffee, for one reason or another, I take a cold shower and I am completely active, but I prefer coffee 😅☕☕☕☕☕

I cannot remember the coffee during my college days. It seems like I didn’t make any, or consume. I remember I had instant coffee to mix with my protein shakes, but this was only to focus on my fitness activities 😁

Yes, that rest was what there was, for a girl with limited resources. This is the cheapest thing to keep me awake 🤭😅

Oh, college days... so much youth and coffee, haha. I was an addict; I had my coffee with Coca-Cola for extra energy when I had to stay up late finishing some paper. I never had coffee while I was studying for my classes and tests though, as I did this in the library, and they wouldn't allow you to eat or drink anything there.

I also prefer hot coffee to a cold shower, but I ususally have both: first, coffee; then, cold shower 😁

A lot of accumulated youth+coffee hahaha, I never tried coffee with Coca-Cola, I did in the early mornings it was my companion drink, a lot of sleep lost thanks to my coffee 🤭😁.
The combination of both coffee+cold shower is comforting, I've tried it too 😅, of course after resting the hot of the coffee🤭, we still active with our coffee ☕☕☕☕😍.

My grandmother on my father's side used to get so mad because I had my steaming coffee and then went straight to bathe in the river; I remember her saying I was going to get cramped up and die stiff! Haha. They call it 'pasmo' (solecism for 'espasmo', spasm in English); you were supposed to get it if you took a shower or bathed immediately after drinking or eating something hot or exercising. She was really mortified, but I listened to my mother better.

Here we also have that belief, if we bathed after drinking or eating something hot, we should rest for at least half an hour, that's how I grew up with that belief and I maintain it 🤭😅

It's so funny 🤭

So it seems, beliefs take us to another level 🤣🤣🤣

Totally. When I was a child, I was superstitious and really gullible, but my mother corrected me at every step; maybe that's why today, sometimes I don't believe in what I see with my own eyes 🤭

🤭🤣🤣🤣, There is a lot of reason for that, there are things that make us doubt, 😅

I also prefer coffee in the morning, it helps me to wake up haha. It reminds me of what you said about exams to my husband, he also drank a lot of coffee during his exams as he tells me, it seems that coffee helps to have a clearer mind.

We are two who like coffee to stay alert in the mornings, for me it turned out to keep me awake all those early mornings that I spent awake, studying for exams, the other day, a sleep marathon😁☕☕☕

I also drank coffee when I was a student, especially at university, but I think I was really awake and active because I had an obligation to study and get good results

That's a college life, drinking coffee ☕☕☕🥹
