Savor the perfect pairing of a steaming cup of coffee and a buttery croissant
In this saturday I am going to the coffee shop to make my weekend even happier with a cup of coffee and some croisant and cake. Going to a coffee shop or cafe is one way for me to heal from daily activities.
This time I went to a coffee shop called Hilande Koffie. This coffee shop has a specialty menu, namely various types of croisants, from sweet to savory and salty. But apart from that, they also provide other heavy foods such as rice and noodles.
This coffee shop consists of two floors. As soon as we entered the entrance area, we were immediately greeted with a showcase of their various croisant menus on the right side of the cafe. Then right in front of the entrance there is a bar area where the baristas make coffee and other drinks. On the first floor there are only a few chairs, because the dining area is on the second floor.
Then one thing that makes the architecture of this coffee shop unique is the circular staircase, making it one of the characteristics of this coffee shop. The interior of this cafe is dominated by white, with brick access on the walls which are also painted white. Then with the addition of several ornaments and also several paintings on the walls. And there are also several plants placed in the corners of the room, adding a fresh and shady impression to this room. The lighting on the second floor area is also good, because they use lamps with warm light, so that visitors who like taking photos will produce good and more aesthetic photos.
And then they also have the outdoor area. In the outdoor area they use tables made of wood and also several decorative rattan lamps shaped like lanterns. This outdoor area offers direct views of the street. It's very suitable to sit in the outdoor area in the afternoon because the breeze is gentle.
My Ordered
This time I ordered Cafe latte for the beverages with Pain au chocolate and choconut cake for the food.
What's different here, every coffee order is served with a mini croisant. The taste of the cafe latte is quite delicious, like cafe lattes in general, nothing special. The coffee tastes good but isn't too strong, and it's just the right amount of sweet and creamy.
The texture of the croisant is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though it is small in size, it is enough to be a friend for drinking coffee. The buttery taste of the croisant pairs perfectly with the sweet and creamy taste of the cafe latte. Moreover, if the croisant is dipped first in cafe latte, it adds to the deliciousness and unique sensation of the croisant.
The Pain au chocolate is no less delicious. Look that shiny from the outer layer of this pain au chocolate. Then, when you cut this Pain au chocolate, you can see the melted chocolate inside, making anyone who sees it tempted. The texture is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making anyone who eats it want more and more.
And finally, choconut cake, which is a combination of chocolate cake coated with chocolate ganache and then sprinkled with chopped almonds. But unfortunately I think this cake is a bit hard, plus the pieces of nuts are also hard, which means I don't like the texture of this choconut cake. But the taste of this cake is quite delicious and not too sweet.
Overall, what I liked the most from all my orders was the cafe latte with mini croisants and the Pain au chocolate. These two menus really taste and have the right texture. For those of you who are also in the city of Medan and want to go to Hilande Koffie I recommend you to order this menu.
