MORNING CUP OF COFFEE

When I delved fully into the world of coffee drinking, I was in college. Back then, the few/most of us who took the drink did so with a goal in mind; it was to be a stimulant. We took it to keep us awake while we studued through the day(mostly nights) in preparation for tests and exams. And frankly, that was the only thing we(me too) thought about the drink -we all assumed that it was only taken to help people stay sober.

Back then, it was only the already processed ready to make brand of Nescafe that I took. There was also this brand that came in a tin but I did not like it so much because it had a bitter taste and needed lots of milk and cream than my allowance could hold up to.

After college, and getting a job, I could afford to spend better on my drink, and graciously, the nature of my job has made it easier that I can have the drink more often. Actually, given the nature of my job, coffee has become a necessary and ever-present friend.

I work a remote job. Most times, it runs from 3pm to 12am in the wee hours of the morning. For other shifts, it could go from 9pm to 6am. While the work is not very boring and myself and my colleagues/band members stay on a voice call through the job sometimes, just talking about random things and assisting ourselves through the job(anything to keep us up amd doing), I can categorically say that coffee has done me far more good.

Unlike most people, I do not always take my coffee in the mornings. as for the most tines and as much as work-routine goes, that's about the time that I am going to catch some sleep(except on my off-days though).

However, after I have awoken, just before I go out to the gym or start my day as the case may be, I make myself a cup. Have you ever maybe noticed that when you're fresh off from sleep, the mind and head is calmer and it's a lot easier to think things through?

Sitting with a cup of coffee in hand, I mentally go through what my day should look like from personal care, to feeding, errands and my job, everything. One thing now is, I'm learning to take a glass of water before I start with coffee. I think it's healthy that way.

A couple of times too, I've had my drink with toast for breakfast and it tasted good but it wasn't as satisfying as when I had it alone with nothing else interfering with the actual flavor. It disrupts my thoughts and meditation in that time. Holding a hot cop of coffee which feels so hot against my palm and hotter as it touches my tongue is how I like my coffee moment. If it's a cold morning, even more appealing.

The best thing about taking coffee early in the morning for me is that I don't have to rush through it. I hate to not enjoy the feeling as the liquid coarses through me. The warmness thst seeps through me, fueling me with just the right mental and physical vigour to go about my day is therapeutic even.
Frankly, coffee does it's own morning magic which only those who enjoy the drink can testify to.

That's an interesting spin on your coffee story. Yes, we do have people who work antisocial hours whose coffee time is opposite to many:)

Water before coffee is something I have been doing for quite some time now, it's a tradition and I can guarantee that it is healthy.

Coffee comes after my morning exercise and it gives me the charge to go about doing my other activities.

I think the cleansing nature of water, especially after not haven tasted anything for some hours makes some difference to just immediately gulping on other drinks.
