To clear my mind, I always go to different places to eat and enjoy a nice drink. In this case, my boyfriend suggested me to go to a nice place near our house that we hadn't been to for a long time.
The place is called Mendrugo Café Lounge, and it is a very nice place to share with tranquility and enjoy good food. I had already checked their Instagram page beforehand and I could notice that they sold some frapuccinos that looked delicious.
Anything to do with coffee for me is appealing, as I usually drink between 5 to 6 cups a day, especially when I'm working in front of the computer. It is the fundamental drink for me, I have acquired the culture of keeping a full or half full cup by my side to keep me focused on my work.
The place is very good, although the waitress who served us was slow ha ha ha ha!
Yesterday I was feeling a little tired and uninspired, until my boyfriend texted me to go to this place to have some of their apparently delicious coffees. I had already had my eye on a type of drink called: Affogato, which is basically vanilla ice cream drowned in a rich espresso coffee. It really caught my attention as I had never tried that kind of drink before.
I got ready as quickly as possible and waited for my boyfriend and his friend to come and pick me up to go to the place. We had been to this place before, last year I spent my birthday dinner there, but we had never tasted their coffees.
Each one of us ordered a different type of coffee, our friend ordered a Mocaccino Frapuccino, my boyfriend also ordered it that way, but with American Espresso flavor, and me with the Affogato, first we ordered to taste a tray of 'Tequeños', which is a typical Venezuelan food very delicious. Although they lacked a little more cooking, the cheese and accompanying sauce were very good.
Waiting for our coffees, I for one wanted to try mine.
After a while of finishing our appetizer, our coffees finally arrived, I must say that I liked the presentation, plus it looked like they had a good amount and a lot of whipped cream on top.
We tasted them and... My goodness! They were delicious! Affogato is one of the best cold drinks I have ever tasted in my life, I don't know if it will be served the same everywhere in the world, but mine was too delicious.
I needed to capture the moment when I was drinking this delight.
The best of all is that it was not cloying, because, if there is something I don't like about sweet foods, it is that they cloy my palate and I have to look for a glass of water to pass the sweetness, but in this case it was the opposite.
Coffee lovers trying different things.
The truth is that I wanted another Affogato, but it was already very late and, besides, if I kept drinking coffee like this, I would not be able to sleep at night.
After we finished, we all agreed to come back next week, this time I would like to try a different kind of coffee. When it comes to this rich food, my palate is always open to experiment, and around here there are several coffee shops that have different techniques and styles.
I felt inspired to talk about this personal experience. If you ever have the opportunity to try Affogato, do it! It is one of the most delicious things you will ever taste.
The best coffee is always at home.
