It was a super hectic week. I had my friends come over from Mumbai to stay with us for a week and go around the city. I was busy hosting them and taking them around and along with that being the Diwali week we had some invitations as well from our friends to celebrate the festival together. So in all it was a hectic but a fun filled week. My friends left today morning and after that I was on a cleaning spree, which is my regular thing to do. Whenever I have guests, everything kind of goes haywire for me, all my routines and schedules are off place, so when they leave then again I have to get everything back in order.
The only thing I do not like is the food wastage that happens when guests come over. Me and hubby as such are small eaters and our food habits are also very simple, we do not get any type of junk foods at home, like chips, juices, ready to eat packages and all. But majority of the people love to eat that and when they come to my place to stay, they get all these kind of things from to supermarket for their munching, when they leave all the leftovers are there, which then I just want to discard it. Some of the things which are in packed form I check with my helpers if they would want to take it. All the clearing is done now and I am back to my routines and discipline.
During the week we had multiple Diwali celebrations, including one at our home with our close friends. Here in Oman bursting crackers is not allowed, in India it is done big time. Now over a period of time, even I am not much in favor of bursting crackers, for the noise and pollution they create. Since, we had lot of kids we got some sparklers for them, which are available and we celebrated the festival.

This celebration was at our friend's place last evening. She had invited many people and done some wonderful decorations as well.
We were all in our Indian traditional attires to feel the spark of the festival.
One of our friend managed to get these small rockets which would go up to a height of 2 to 3 meters and burst.
Then there was lot of amazing food, we danced to some bollywood music and had an amazing time. This year for the Diwali party at my place, I could not do much since through out the day we were busy sightseeing with my friends from India. I could not even do Rangoli due to lack of time, but yet we had a wonderful week.
