Hi Hivers in PhotoFeed community, today I would like to write about a fisherman who has been fishing for a long time on the upper Kon Tum hydroelectric lake which is also known as Dak Tang lake. Dak Tang Lake is a large lake with a length of 15km and is surrounded by mountains and surrounding primeval forests. The deepest point of the lake is about 200m. This lake has a calculated capacity of about 150 million cubic meters. Under favorable conditions, there are many different fish in this large lake. That's why there are some people fishing here. Today I was fortunate to follow a fisherman and learn more about his life story.
And the fisherman that I want to talk about today is a friend that I met recently. His name is Thai. Thai is not someone who was born and raised in this land. He has been coming here since 2010. Initially he was a mechanic of the hydropower project of Dak Tang lake. After the construction was completed in 2018, because of his love for this land, he and his wife decided to stay in this land. His wife is an elementary school teacher. And he stayed to work as a fisherman which is his family traditional job. Was born and grew up in Quang Tri province, he went fishing with his father when he was a child.
I am a friend of his neighbor. Last week I visited my friend at Viring that is a small village on the hill next to Dak Tang lake. I met and heard about Thai's story so I asked him to go fishing on Dak Tang lake with him. And luckily he agreed. And you know what, we started our fishing trip at 3am. Every day, around 3 pm Thai will go to the lake to hook bait on about 300 hooks tied to the trees around the lake and drop the bait into the big nets in the middle of the lake. And from 3 am to 6 am, Thai will go to check the fish hooks and nets.
In the early morning, it was so cold and dark. Thai sailed a small boat to check out fish hooks and nets. I was just sitting on that small boat and I had no idea which direction to go. Although it was very dark, Thai still knew which way to go. He asked me not to turn on the light to avoid making the fish run away. It seems that driving the boat is his habit. I must say that Thai has a hard life. But he has a warm heart. He is a gentle and friendly person. He works hard to earn money for his family. I learned a lot from his life.
I had a great fishing trip with Thai, and I learned a lot from him. I hope you like my post too. Thank you very much for taking time to read my post. I wish you a nice day.
