Going to Mérida and not climbing its mountains is like not having gone because this region is where the largest mountain range in Venezuela is located.
Together with @mimistories, I went to El Vallecito, on the outskirts of the city of Mérida. It is a rural area, with cows included, and just above is a pine forest.
She has been there before but didn't remember the route, so it was an adventure right after having experienced a bit of an extreme one, which she recounts in this post.
However, we are safe and sound, plus it is not a high mountain challenge, but it is ideal to enjoy a good time contemplating nature, without using much physical effort, the kind that makes you regret when you are climbing, bathed in sweat.
After arriving at the pine forest, we lay down for a while to look at the trunks, the sky, the sun's rays, and of course, the cool weather, which despite the fact that it was around noon, there was no heat.

Ir a Mérida y no subir sus montañas es como no haber ido, porque esta región, es donde está la cadena montañosa más grande de Venezuela.
Junto a @mimistories, fui a El Vallecito, a las afueras de la ciudad de Mérida. Se trata de una zona rural, con vacas incluidas y justo arriba hay un bosque de pinos.
Ella ya ha ido, pero no se acordaba de la ruta, así que fue una aventura justo después de haber vivido una un poco extrema, que cuenta en este post.
Sin embargo, estamos sanos y salvos, además que no es un reto de alta montaña, sino que es ideal para disfrutar de un buen momento contemplando la naturaleza, sin emplear mucho esfuerzo físico, de ese que te hace arrepentir cuando estás subiendo, bañado en sudor.
Luego de llegar al bosque de los pinos, nos acostamos un rato a ver los troncos, el cielo, los rayos del sol, y por supuesto, el fresco clima, que a pesar de haber sido aproximadamente las doce del mediodía, no había calor.
Fue un buen día…
