I recently visited the Island of Sao Miguel, the biggest island in the Azorian Archipelago. The image depicts the laurel forest surrounding the two main lagoons, the Blue and the Green, located in the far west. These lagoons are actually the lower part of the craters of ancient volcanoes and are surrounded by lush forests, such as the one shown in the photo.
