We have freedom to live, freedom to speech, freedom to our own existence, and many more aspects of freedom. That's just life for us. You can choose whatever you want; you make your own decision that favors you.
That brings us to the topic of restricting the amount of resources an individual or a family has to use, which is kind of limiting. Since we have the freedom to do things and make decisions, there shouldn’t be limits to our way of life.
One thing I know about life is that no matter how many houses you build in this life, no matter how many mansions and duplexes you have, when it's time to sleep, you can only sleep on a part of your bed in one of the rooms in your house. You can't sleep in all rooms at once.
But with that, we can't limit people to building one house or just one room with their beds. This is about family choices. A family of three cannot be compared to a family of fifteen. A larger family would need more space compared to a smaller one.
Having multiple cars is also a choice to make. We all have different family sizes, as fingers are never equal. A rich man would have to live with some guards for protection and also have some other escorts and workers in his custody. We can’t limit him to only one car. He would surely need more cars to carry out his duties.
Fingers not being equal is also a factor why we have the poor not having a single car and then some people have multiple cars. Some have their cars for commercial purposes and some have theirs for luxury. The difference is clear.
Cars are part of what causes pollution to the atmosphere, so limiting one car per family might seem to be a good choice to control carbon emissions. But wouldn’t it be better if we could just find a way to reduce the emissions than reducing the amount of cars?
Apart from cars, there are other resources and machinery that cause a lot of pollution to the atmosphere. We have tractors and factory engines. We have motorcycles and marine machines. There are surely a lot of them and not cars alone.
In conclusion
Families should have as many cars as they want, they can only ride the one they want at the time they want it. Another important aspect is when it comes to damages. Having one car might lead to a lot of discomfort at times. Once the car gets faulty then we are left with no choice to make. But if there were to be another then we are just good to go before the faulty car gets repaired.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in hive learners community for the Week 148 Edition 1 and the topic to be discussed is ONE CAR PER FAMILY
