Betting Sites/Gambling: Ban or Stay

in #hive-1538504 days ago

Betting is something most people find interesting, especially young adults. I have seen old men running for me and playing a drawing game. When asked, they would say they were playing a fixed match. I cannot and can't believe that there is something called fixed matches. Most young adults have made a lot from this betting, while some have made money through standing in as an agent. One of my husband's students was called a Yahoo boy for a very long time until he came around to meet my husband, according to my husband. After his explanation, it was discovered that what he does to get his money is not through Yahoo but through betting sites.

He has a Telegram channel, which he used to promote betting sites. This has earned him a lot of money. He even tried to introduce my husband, but my husband was not ready to learn, although it takes a lot to have followers on Telegram. You need to build your telegram channel with those who are gamers. And you must have not less than 10,000 followers subscribing to your channels, all of whom must be gamers. Although some would learn from others or the channel.

So, the betting sites kept paying him $800 weekly. Another betting site was also paying him $1500 every two weeks. This was a lot of money. This boy has his own house and a nice ride. He is calmly living his life and making his money while at home.

My question now is, “If betting is banned, how will this boy survive?” Others are also making money through this means.
To be sincere, my husband has been one of the betting victims. He wasted a lot of money betting but then not winning a dime. Sometimes, he does manage to win, but not up to the money he has spent betting. I had warned him several times to quit betting, but he kept on with this act until I threatened him that I would divorce him if he kept on with this act. This is when he decided to quit, but not totally. He plays, but sparingly.

If I may say so, betting is not for the poor people but for the rich. A rich man would spend a lot of money betting on just 0.5 odd and would come out winning. Imagine someone betting with 500K with a return of 750K. This fellow would make 250K per bet. There is no way he would see 0.5-odd from the countless games playing daily.

I know one rich man who would dress up nicely with his suit properly put on, ready to go to work. He would leave his house and go straight to a betting shop to resume his work as a better. He made a lot of money daily in betting. Imagine betting sites being banned; how would he make his money?
Most people like my husband spent time going through games that would win and would stake just a little for about 10 to 30 games in a ticket. The winning power in this is not up to 50% despite the vigorous checking. How would one expect to win a lot of money staking a lesser amount on about 20 to 30 games?
I’m not disputing that betting is good, but so many people benefit from it. Banning it would not sound so well. So, I will say that it should not be banned, but one needs to bet responsibly, or else one would lose it all.

Most people bet all their money on it, while some have taken it as an addiction. Stopping it is always difficult, just like my husband, but thank goodness that he has reduced the way he always gets involved in it greatly.

One thing I will always say is follow people at the top at your own risk especially when it involves cryptocurrency 😅😅😅

You even know the the 0.5 odd thing😅.

Sincerely speaking, there's actually nothing wrong with betting. The bad thing is how people addictively go about it even when it's wrecking them

Hi! Well, good post. Congratulations.

And interesting experience. It makes me want to go to Telegram to compulsively gather followers. 🤣

On the other hand, the way the boy survived made me smile. Maybe he can learn to work hard. 🤭🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe I can learn too.
