My Husband Does Not Need Paternity Leave

This topic reminded me of the stress my husband always goes through before and after my delivery. I have given birth to four children, and I can bet you the way my husband always behaves towards me is charming.

Pregnant women are always given maternity leave, most especially when they are getting to the delivery date. In the school my husband works at, he has always told me how pregnant women are given three months maternity leave after birth. The men are not allowed to go on paternity leave as such; they have to be in school instead.

Paternity leave, to me, is something that I may not support just because the men have to work just to put food on the table. That does not mean the women would just leave the men without supporting them financially.

My husband always tries his best to make me and my kids happy. At least this is what women deserve and love extremely. We just wanted our husbands to be with us at all costs, especially before and after delivery.

Most men value paternity leave just to make their wives happy and also to make them relax, at least for three months. Some companies can never joke about paternity leave as they take it so seriously. Men, on the other hand, always feel happy staying with their kids, as they are always happy seeing the newborn baby.

To be honest, my husband has been trying so much from the first day of my pregnancy to the day of delivery and when the child would be three months old. He does not joke with his children, especially when he is still a baby. I'm so proud of him for being my husband.

In most cases, people always believe that the woman would be the one to get familiar with the child, just because she would always be the one with the child. This I cannot believe because the father is always the father and can always get familiar with the child. The father can always come home daily or during the weekend, and he always carries the child and kisses, and this would make the child love the father.

The fact remains that other people, such as the sisters or relatives of either the man or the woman, would be around to help the woman out in doing the house chores. To be sincere, it is not fair for only the woman to remain at home, but then it is not good for the man to be granted paternity leave.

My question now is: “What if the couple are in the same working place? Would it be possible for the two to be granted leave?” I think the best answer to that question is "no.”.

One thing is for sure: blood is thicker than water. So, no matter the distance, the father is still the father, although most children would not be able to recognize their fathers just because he always comes home at night when such a child has slept off and wakes up in the morning when the child is still sleeping. I have heard stories of this kind of situation where the child had to lock the door against the father, not knowing he was his father.

This is not the issue here, anyway. But then I do not support paternity leave, as this is not the best. The husband should stay at work just to find daily bread, and in most cases, he might lose some benefits coming from the place of work. So, as far as I can manage it as a mother, everyone can manage it, although my husband does come home daily as his workplace is not too far from home. Sporadically when they are on break, he does check on me and his child. I think this is better when the distance from work is not far.

It is true that men don't get such benefits, but now the government is making a decision that a month's leave will be given.

I know that they would make that attempt but I don't think it will be possible
