Performance enhancing drugs are drugs or substances taken to boost one's strength and energy. Many of these drugs come with serious side effects. Many of these athletes do not consider the harm it causes but mainly concentrate on the win and glory they will achieve after the game.
Remember sport is a game, and it will be so unfair if the use of performance enhancers is allowed, the true strength and ability of an athlete won't be known since such an athlete is under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs. It will be a cheating on the opponent who doesn't use such drugs.

Many athletes go for performance-enhancing drugs as a result of their outrageous desire to win a game at all costs, they neglect the negative consequences of such drugs and major on the glory they will attain after the game. If performance enhancing drug is allowed for sports activities, I can clearly say that it's no longer a game or competition but cheating. That's why the use of performance-enhancing drugs was prohibited in sports activities, this helps in protecting the integrity of the entertainment games.

The prevalence of the usage of performance enhancing drugs varies accross various levels and type of sport. Many athletes get into the act of using performance enhancing drugs due to peer pressure and also the desire to become a top rated athlete. In order to curb the act of using performance enhancing drugs, the sport organization has set up a means of screening and testing various athletes before allowing them to play a game, which i believe it's a way of limiting the usage of performance enhancing drugs and also to preserve the integrity of sport organizations.
Many of the disadvantages of performance-enhancing drugs are numerous which include hallucinations, mental loss, heart attack, kidney failure, stroke, and many more. Many talented athletes have ruined their careers due to the use of performance-enhancing drugs. Personally, I detest such act and do not encourage the use of these drugs during sports activities.

We've had a series of sports athletes who were caught using a performance-enhancing drug which led them to being stripped off from their positions, while many were banned from the team completely. A typical example, is a cyclist named Lanced Amstrong who won 7 times, from 1999 to 2004. But was later discovered that he was using performance enhancing drugs in winning those games. He was stripped off his position and was banned. This is really a public show of shame and disgrace, which can be avoided if he comply and avoid the use of performance-enhancing drugs.
I believe all things should be done with integrity and fairness. Using performance enhancing drugs does not imply hardwork for attaining a success, instead it portray the act of laziness and lack of integrity in such an athlete. Instead of seeking performance-enhancing drugs, I will advise both the sportsmen and women to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy diet and having a daily routine of regular exercise.
